Kumar Nathan, MD is a practicing Hospitalist and Vice President of Administration System Pharmacy for Northwestern Medicine HealthCare. He currently leads the acute care pharmacy at 11 hospitals, as well as the Specialty Pharmacy and Home Infusion divisions. He holds a bachelor's degree in Finance and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He began his practice as a Hospitalist at Swedish American Hospital, then joined Centegra Health System in 2008 and started the Hospitalist Medicine Program as the Director. In 2012, Dr. Nathan was appointed Vice President, Clinical Effectiveness and lead the organization to top decile rankings in quality, safety and utilization outcomes. In 2017 he was appointed the President of Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital. During his nearly 5 year tenure, the newly built Huntley Hospital achieved CMS 5 Star ratings, consecutive Leap Frog A grades and Magnet status. Additionally, he served on the Board of Centegra Health and Wellness Network that oversaw Centegra's Accountable Care Organization and was a board member of the Midwest Alliance for Patient Safety (MAPS). He currently serves on the Illinois Hospital Association Committee on Health Disparities as well as the Medical Executive Committee for which he was the Chairman in 2016.
